St George’s Church of England Primary School and Nursery is an oversubscribed, larger‑than‑average, thriving and inclusive Christian school, currently educating around 570 children. Although officially a 2.5‑form‑entry school, we operate as a three‑form‑entry, enabling us to offer a broad, rich curriculum and strong pastoral care across all year groups.
We are incredibly proud of the high standards our children achieve. Outcomes for disadvantaged pupils place us in the top 25% nationally, reflecting our determination to ensure that every child—no matter their background—has the opportunity to excel. Our dedicated staff team work tirelessly to provide high‑quality teaching that inspires ambition, curiosity and confidence in every learner.
Collaboration is central to our success. We work closely with local schools, Lichfield Diocese, Telford & Wrekin Local Authority, and a wide range of external partners. These strong relationships enrich our practice, broaden opportunities for our pupils and staff, and ensure St George’s remains a successful, outward‑looking school rooted in community and faith.
As our next Headteacher, you will lead a committed and talented team of professionals and work closely with an engaged Governing Board to maintain and further strengthen the school’s culture of high expectations and joyful learning. You will have the opportunity to build on our strong foundations while shaping an ambitious vision for the school’s future.
Please submit an application form and a separate personal statement. CV’s will not be accepted. All completed application forms and personal statements should be emailed to gillian.richards@telford.gov.uk.
