We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team in Fareham Park Gate.
About us:
We are an established practice which celebrated its 20th year in 2020 and are part of a family of Companion Care and Vets4Pets surgeries across the Solent (5 branches in total). We are a friendly, small animal first opinion practice and our team consists of 4 veterinary surgeons with varying levels of experience who are supported by seven registered veterinary nurses, two student veterinary nurses, two veterinary care assistant, seven receptionists, and our practice manager.
Our practice is built to industry leading standards and includes standard and dental digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, four consulting rooms, individual cat and dog wards, isolation room and an onsite operating theatre.
The ideal candidate must:
1. Have a minimum of 3 years in practice experience.
2. Have excellent customer care, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
3. Be computer literate.
4. Be able to work under pressure, solve problems and work independently.
5. Be self-motivated and hardworking.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
6. Admissions and discharges
7. Monitoring ops
8. In patient care
9. Delivering clinics (on weight, dental care, puppy and kitten care and diabetes)
10. Consulting
11. Measuring blood pressure
12. Blood sampling
13. Supporting vets
14. Pharmacy work
15. Clinical coach training will be provided to support regular student placements.
Hours
The position is based on an average 40-hour week with a 1 in 4 weekend shift pattern. Typical working hours will be:
16. Monday – Friday: shifts between 08h00 – 19h30
17. Saturdays: 08h00 – 18h00
18. Sundays: 10h00 – 16h00 (closed on Sundays for the foreseeable future)

Remuneration: Starting from £28,000 but commensurate with level of experience
