1 position fixed night shift (22:00 – 06:00): £44,074.87 plus bonus scheme of up to 15%
Summary
Lead the final inspection team during shifts, ensure adherence to inspection standards, provide excellent customer service, and drive performance against KPIs for efficiency, quality and health & safety.
Primary Functions
* Lead the final inspection team during the shift, progressively driving shift performance and adhering to inspection standards.
* Provide an excellent service to customers, ensuring clear and concise communication including job status updates.
* Consistently achieve and exceed departmental KPIs in terms of efficiency, quality and health & safety.
* Feed into the overall plan for the development of quality within the Blackburn facility.

Quality Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage inspector resourcing of the shifts (absences/holiday management, overtime).
* Manage training plan and competency matrix of Inspectors.
* Supervise staff to ensure accurate data entry and consistent testing output to required time scales.
* Escalate reported quality issues to operations and quality management team.
* Support root cause analysis of non‑conformities and own corrective actions related to inspection.
* Manage inspector performance against objectives in line with company strategy.
* Manage inspectors performance against procedure adherence and code of conduct in line with HR policy.
* Support documentation review and improvements related to inspection activities.
Education and Experience Requirements
* Relevant experience in an inspection setting.
* Experience in team management/supervision.
* Minimum HND or equivalent in an engineering or scientific discipline.
* Good understanding of relevant standards.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Well‑organised.
* Customer focused.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
* Ability to work flexibly.
Competency Requirements
* Excellent job knowledge and an eagerness to expand knowledge.
* Expertise in techniques, skills, equipment, procedures and materials.
* Proficient in problem‑solving tools such as Run Charts, Pareto Charts, Cause & Effect, Gantt Charts.
* Strong lean and continuous improvement mindset (5S, TPM, visual management, Kaizen).
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey key messages concisely.
