SEN Teaching Assistant – Huyton (L36)

Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.25 per hour (DOE)
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Huyton (L36) to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children across the primary age range, with a focus on pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and, at times, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC
* Support children in accessing the curriculum in a structured and engaging way
* Help implement EHCP targets, behaviour strategies, and individual support plans
* Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO
* Support emotional regulation and social development
* Occasionally assist pupils with SEMH needs, helping manage behaviour positively
* Create a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with children with ASC and/or SEMH (school, care, or similar setting)
* A calm, patient and empathetic approach
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* A proactive and flexible attitude
* The ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
* A passion for supporting children with additional needs
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, childcare or SEN) are desirable but not essential if you have strong experience.
