Leaders in Care is partnering with a council on the East Coast of England, currently seeking an experienced Adoption Social Worker to join their team on a locum basis. This role offers excellent flexibility, working two to three days per week, with a competitive rate of £38 per hour.
The role is commutable from London, with regular train services making it a practical option for those based in the city. Depending on your location, travel times typically range from 30 minutes to just over an hour, allowing you to maintain London living while working elsewhere.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake and complete adoption assessments of prospective adopters
* Work closely with individuals and families to assess suitability and provide guidance throughout the adoption process
* Prepare detailed, evidence-based reports for adoption panels
* Ensure all assessments comply with statutory requirements and adoption regulations
* Liaise with professionals across services to support the safeguarding and welfare of children
About You:
* Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
* Experience in completing adoption assessments
* Strong working knowledge of adoption legislation, regulations, and best practice
* Excellent Communication, assessment, and report writing skills
* Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards
