Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Executive Office within the Strategy, Transformation, and Assurance Directorate. You’ll play a vital role in supporting strategic delivery at the heart of our organisation. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines administrative excellence with planning, coordination of logistics for events (including visits and conferences) and note‑taking responsibilities.
What you’ll do
* You’ll handle all administrative activities on behalf of the Business Manager and Executive Coordination Managers.
* You’ll play a key role in managing the logistics for events and visits, working closely with the team to ensure smooth running of internal and external events.
* You’ll support the Office with planning activities.
* You’ll draft key notes and actions for a range of meetings, providing clear records of decisions.
* You will provide cover for the Executive Director’s PA once a week (currently on a Friday) and during periods of leave, giving you the opportunity to get involved in a broader range of activities.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone highly organised, digitally confident, and an experienced communicator who can build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll need to be adaptable, calm under pressure, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.

* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
* IT proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
* Experience in note‑taking and document preparation
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
* Experience in event coordination and administrative leadership
Location and working arrangements
This role can be delivered from any Environment Agency office, however regular travel to our Marsham Street office in London for co‑location and meetings, and some occasional overnight stays will be required. Flexible working patterns are welcomed, including job share.
