As Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the design,
implementation, & support of scalable data management solutions, as well
as for forecasting system requirements & providing a course of action to
meet the growing workload demands. You will collaborate with other
departments to create standardized delivery of data management solutions
that are aligned with enterprise strategy & architecture. You will
define database maintenance standards & work with Operations to ensure
these standards are implemented & followed consistently. You will
occasionally propose enhancements to the daily operations of database
systems. Duties & Responsibilities: Maintain a highly available,
reliable production database environment. Ensure & test the viability &
reliability of database backups & recovery on a planned & unplanned
basis. Monitor, capture, & conduct thorough performance analysis of our
database systems to identify areas for improvement & optimization.
Analyze & optimize database queries, stored procedures, & data access
patterns to improve performance & efficiency. Evaluate & optimize
database indexing strategies & schema designs to enhance query
performance & reduce latency. Exp& & shrink database storage as needed.
Conduct capacity planning & scaling the system. Monitor job & transfer
queues to ensure they are functioning as expected. Manage SQL Server
databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from
development to production systems. Administer Microsoft SQL Server
databases, develop & optimize applications & integrations using the
Microsoft SQL Server platform. Develop, maintain & enhance imports,
vendor exports, data warehousing tasks, reports, & other data related
tasks. Conduct security & compliance reviews. Script & automate the
day-to-day tasks. Define & promote best practices & standards for
database performance tuning & optimization across the organization.
Document tuning strategies, optimization techniques & best practices, &
provide training & guidance to team members as needed. Promote & support
continuous improvement with the SQMS. Responds to off-hours service
impacting incidents, as needed. Performs other related duties as
assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science with a
minimum of five years SQL Server administration, or equivalent
Experience Required. Extensive Experience With Database Administration &
system analysis including design, installation & troubleshooting of MS
SQL Server required. Extensive experience with monitoring tools such as
Ola Hallengren\'s scripts or Idera SQL Safe required. Extensive
Experience With Performance Tuning & Optimization Required. Extensive
experience with backups, restores, recoveries, & clones required. Strong
analytical & problem-solving skills, ability to organize & prioritize
multiple assignments, participate as a team leader or member of a team,
work under pressure & complete job assignments in an accurate, timely &
professional manner required. Excellent presentation, communication,
interpersonal & customer service skills & ability to interact
effectively & professionally with all learning styles, personality types
& levels of management, staff, or external entities preferred. Microsoft
Certified Database Administrator Certification Preferred. Experience
managing security within the SQL Server environment preferred.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
preferred. Proven ability to learn new skills to stay current with
changing technologies & industry trends, & proactively share knowledge
with others. Must be able to perform all functions of the job, including
lifting up to 50 pounds. Must possess & maintain a valid State driver\'s
license & is responsible to maintain all vehicles maintenance logs. Must
be available to work nights &/or weekends when necessary.
