About the role
The successful candidate will assist the assistant manager and Manager with supervision of the team across our two Cafés in the terminal building, ensuring the highest level of food hygiene and customer delivery is maintained, whilst maximising revenue opportunities. This role not only encompasses the Café and our retail outlet where we sell a selection of Cornish produce alongside travel necessities but also have launched our newly installed bar!
What you'll be doing:
1. Supervising the team for the day-to-day operation of the café and retail areas to ensure maximum productivity of the workforce (maximum net revenue/FTE) by developing good selling techniques and offers to maximise sales (, cross selling, link selling, effective food preparation).
2. Ensuring the Café retains its five-star hygiene rating and meets all food health and hygiene standards, includes strictly adhering to Natasha Law guidelines. Also adhering to legislation in relation to sales and consumption of alcohol to at all times.
3. Ensuring all areas of the business deliver a positive and consistent customer experience (in both regular and disrupt situations) that reflects the CAL brand.
4. Driving a positive Health and Safety agenda for self and team to sustain a safe and secure environment within the café and retail areas for both colleagues and the travelling public.
5. Most importantly, you’ll deliver top class customer service and commercial performance across the café and retail operation at the Airport.
About you
The following qualifications and experience are essential:
6. Good supervisory, administrative and organisational skills.
7. Ability to work to specified guidelines.
8. IT skills in MS Office.
9. Communication skills to suit a wide variety of customers.
10. Ability to remain calm, assertive and methodical in stressful situations.
11. Highly motivated to work, learn and develop not only themselves but others
12. Flexible over days.
13. Demonstrates an ability to plan a head, execute projects and plans in a timely manner.
14. Experience of stock handling
15. Have awareness, as well as raising awareness of all allergens in all food recipes.
