Responsibilities
* Lead the nursing team to provide high-quality care and support to women with mental health conditions.
* Empower recovery and deliver supervision to staff across the ward to deliver great healthcare.
* Work alongside the senior nurse to manage the on‑call service and lead the ward budgets.
* Provide clinical leadership and expertise for the nursing care of service users within the specialism.
* Guide and support a unified service and engaged workforce.
* Ensure that high standards are in place, followed and improved in accordance with the Clinical Governance framework.
* Utilise and supervise all nursing staff effectively.
* Create a positive, collaborative environment that allows ward members to reach their potential and provide high‑quality care, staff welfare and staff training.
* Designate the ward’s charge, overseeing medium and low secure care and Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU) for women aged 18 and over with personality disorder and mental illness.
Qualifications
* A relevant nursing qualification.
* NMC registration.
* A positive attitude and natural caring and compassion.
* A commitment to high‑quality care, values and evidence‑based practice.
* Relevant experience in a similar environment.
* Proven track record of leadership skills.
