We’re currently supporting a large, reputable Social Housing provider who are currently recruiting for two Fire Safety Surveyor’s on three month temporary contracts.
The role is home based, each role will cover two separate patches, role one will be covering Liverpool, Hull, Newcastle and Derby, role two will cover Loughborough, Coventry and Reading. Mileage is paid at £0.45p from home.
The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The daily rate is £500 per day inside IR35, via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have experience carrying our fire risk assessments, fire door inspections and managing fire risk assessments on new build developments.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Acting as the technical expert for passive fire prevention works, including compartmentation and fire door works/remediations, ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation and the safety of customers
* Supporting the maintenance of statutory compliance in line with fire safety legislation
* Carrying out inspections for major fire safety works projects and new build developments
* Attending and contributing to contractor meetings, monitoring fire safety contractors, and ensuring performance and quality of works are delivered to the required standard and compliant with CDM requirements
* Delegating work to the administrative team
* Maintaining accurate records of all completed visits and inspections
* Supporting complaint handling through investigations and customer liaison
Experience required:
* Proven expertise in passive fire prevention works, including compartmentation, fire doors, and remediation projects, with a strong understanding of fire safety legislation
* Experience in maintaining statutory compliance across a range of property types, ensuring adherence to current fire safety regulations
* Background in carrying out inspections for major fire safety works and new build developments, identifying risks and ensuring corrective action is taken
* Track record of attending and contributing to contractor meetings, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with CDM requirements and quality standards
* Experience in delegating tasks effectively to administrative teams and overseeing delivery of work to deadlines
* Ability to maintain accurate records of inspections, visits, and project progress, ensuring audit readiness and transparency
* Experience of handling customer complaints, conducting investigations, and liaising with residents and stakeholders to resolve fire safety concerns
Qualifications required:
* Level 3 or Level 4 Certificate/Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment (essential)
* NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management (desirable)
* IFE (Institution of Fire Engineers) (desirable)
* Degree or HND in Fire Safety Engineering, Building Surveying, or a related discipline (desirable)
* IFE (Institution of Fire Engineers) membership (desirable)
* FRACS (Fire Risk Assessment Certification Scheme) (desirable)
* NQA, BAFE SP205 or other UKAS-accredited certification schemes (desirable)
Working hours:
* 37 hours per week
* Monday – Friday
* Home based, manage own diary 50/50 split between site and home
