We are seeking an enthusiastic, efficient, and motivated Cardiac Physiologist to join our busy cardiology department at Band 5 level. This position offers further training for progression to band 6 and band 7 levels once accreditation is achieved with either The British Society of Echocardiography or The British Heart Rhythm Society.
Candidates must have, or be in the final year of, the BSc Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) Degree, or an equivalent qualification.

As a newly qualified Cardiac Physiologist, you will participate in delivering specialist clinical services and high standards of patient care. You will rotate through various sections of the cardiac department to develop and maintain specialist knowledge and apply this in practice. You will have opportunities to build upon your theoretical and practical training, utilizing the expertise of our highly skilled cardiac physiologists in diagnostic and therapeutic investigations. You will also contribute to the development and delivery of education and training within the department.
Main Duties:
1. Providing a clinical technical service, including routine ECG, exercise tolerance testing (supervised by doctors and physiologists), 24-hour ambulatory monitoring, assisting in the Cardiac Cath Lab during diagnostic angiography and interventional procedures, and assisting with cardiac device implant and follow-up clinics.
2. Training towards basic echocardiography scanning skills to accreditation levels.
3. Handling procedures on a range of patients, with possible exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances, body odours, body fluids, and secretions.
4. Analyzing and assessing test results against acceptability criteria, working within professional policies and protocols.
