We are looking for a User Researcher with strong Government Digital Service (GDS) experience to help design and improve user-centred digital services. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure services meet user needs and comply with GDS standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a User Researcher within GDS or UK public sector projects (Recent)
Strong knowledge of the GDS Service Standard and service assessments
Experience running usability testing, interviews, surveys, and workshops
Ability to communicate insights clearly to varied audiences
Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct user research across the service lifecycle (discovery, alpha, beta, live)
Use a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods
Translate research findings into clear, actionable insights
Collaborate with designers, product managers, developers, and stakeholders
Ensure research aligns with GDS Service Standard and best practice
Support teams in making evidence-based, user-centred decisions
