Supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health disorders within their own homes and to access the local community.
This role includes dayshifts, late shifts, sleepovers and nightshifts and weekend working all applicants must be able to do all shift patterns. This may be in a shared tenancy or single tenancy; you will be expected to lone work at times.
You will be provided with all necessary training such as CALM, ESCAPES etc.
1. annual increments 1st 5 years.
2. enhancements for unsocial hours and sleepovers.
3. Auto enrolment onto the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
4. 32 annual leave days rising to 37 days after 5 years.
The Person
Must have, or be willing to achieve in the first period of registration, the Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 6 (equivalent to SVQ2) or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration.
Communication skills, organisational skills, ability to manage and prioritise workload, ability to work with minimal supervision, team working skills, literacy skills, basic IT skills.
Ability to provide support to individuals with personal care needs, moving & handling, ability to undertake physical tasks. being able to comfortably kneel on beds and floors and able to rise without difficulty.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
As this role requires SSSC registration, you will have three months to apply for registration.
If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.
If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe.
