Where You’ll Be Working
Based in a charming listed former school building opposite Bishopthorpe library, our nursery boasts four beautiful rooms, each lovingly restored to preserve their original features. We also offer three gardens and an on-site Forest School, a daily organic kitchen, our own Out-of-School and Holiday Club attached to the local school with arts and crafts and outdoor adventures, and a therapy dog, Mabel, who visits twice a week.
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of our Bank Nursery Team, you’ll support children and colleagues across the nursery as and when needed – covering holidays, helping during busy periods, and providing consistency for children when teams need extra support. You’ll help build dens outdoors, bring story time to life, and support children through play, creativity, curiosity, and connection while ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
What We’re Looking For
Experience working in a childcare or Early Years setting, with a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification desirable but not essential. We seek people with big hearts, curious minds, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s growth and development.
We are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
The Old Station Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we expect all applicants to share this commitment. All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references, verification of your right to work in the UK, and any essential qualifications. If successful, our Onboarding Team will guide you through every step of the onboarding process. We are an inclusive employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds. Reasonable adjustments will be considered to support fairness and accessibility for all candidates. This role involves regulated activity with children.
