The role is based at Queen Victoria Memorial (QVM)Hospital, a 21-bedded unit in Welwyn Village, Hertfordshire, specialising inthe rehabilitation of diverse pathologies including stroke, falls,orthopaedics, general medical conditions, plus size, and amputees. Patientstays typically range from 17 days to 6 weeks depending on their rehabilitationpathway. Main duties of the job
As part of theinpatient therapy team at Queen Victoria Memorial (QVM) Hospital, you will workclosely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, RehabilitationAssistants, and the wider MDT in delivering comprehensive rehabilitationpackages. This role will involve providing skilled assessment and treatmentsessions to support individual rehabilitation, completing access and homevisits, assessing and ordering equipment, participating in family meetings, andcontributing to complex discharge planning.

Job responsibilities
To undertake a significant clinical caseload to a highprofessional standard, using specialist knowledge and skills from theoreticaland practical experience.
To be responsible for the supervision, education, andassessment of junior staff, technical instructors, and students.
To communicate with relevant medical and nursing staff,social workers, other health care professionals, patients, relatives, andcarers to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to patient care.
To maintain own clinical professional development bydeveloping current knowledge of evidence-based practice, maintaining aportfolio demonstrating personal development and reflective practice, andincorporating new skills into everyday practice.
To carry out accompanied home visits and unaccompaniedaccess visits to assess patients functioning in their own environment and tocommunicate with relatives and carers regarding further care and/or treatmentat home.
To participate in departmental audit and research asrequired, and to perform any other duties as considered appropriate by the leadoccupational therapist.

Qualifications
* Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy.
* HCPC Registration.
* Post-qualifying UK NHS experience in rehabilitation of a variety of pathologies including stroke, falls, orthopaedics, general medical, plus size, and amputees, and condition management.
* Car owner/driver is essential for this role.
