Accounts and Tax Manager (Hybrid) – 3 days in the office
Salary, up to £60,000 DOE
Overview
The right candidate will be an all‑rounder, having skills in both accounting and taxation. You will be responsible for client communication and ensuring that tasks are completed by the team, including bookkeeping, VAT returns, personal and corporation tax returns, year‑end accounts, and offering tax planning and forecasting advice. Additional duties may involve company secretarial work, providing relevant financial advice, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Client service and efficient communication are key for this role.
Responsibilities
* Manage client communication and ensure tasks are completed by the team.
* Handle bookkeeping, VAT returns, personal and corporation tax returns, year‑end accounts.
* Offer tax planning, forecasting and company secretarial advice.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and provide relevant financial advice.
Requirements
* Proven experience managing a small team and reviewing accounts and tax returns.
* Ability to manage year‑end accounts, tax planning, forecasting, and company secretarial tasks.
* Proficiency in accounting software (FreeAgent is a plus but not essential).
* Exceptional client service skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to streamline administrative processes.
* Experience working with contractors, consultants, or freelancers is advantageous.
Qualifications
* Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
* Qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant with at least 3 years relevant experience in the UK.
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is beneficial.
