Health and Safety Advisor. 37 Hours per week. Salary £37,121.10. Norse Groups SHEQ department have a fantastic opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join the team on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The role
As Health and Safety Advisor, you will be part of a team of H&S specialists assisting the Group Health, Safety and Environmental Manager in the delivery of health, safety and environmental strategies and related activities throughout the Norse Group. To assist the Norse Group in the fulfilment of the Safety, Health, Environmental requirements and the promotion of certified ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management system.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assist with and prepare written reports following the completion of health and safety audits and other projects.
* Support the health and safety team with the successful completion of health and safety objectives and project work in accordance with agreed timescales.
* Identify hazards and probable risks, assisting and advising service managers in the development of suitable risk controls and safe systems of working.
* Undertake and assist with RIDDOR investigations, ensuring correct procedures are followed, conclusions and recommendations are based on factual evidence and findings, and reports completed within agreed timescales.
* Carry out and assist with safety inspections, reporting outcomes and corrective actions to the responsible service manager.
* Continue to develop and maintain a good level of understanding of relevant health and safety legislation, initiatives and industry trends.
* Work with management and staff to ensure that all risk assessments, method statements, transport management plans and safe working procedures are suitable and sufficient and communicated effectively.
Our Successful Candidate
Qualifications
* Proven experience within a Health and Safety Advisor role or similar
* NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
* Experience carrying out accident investigations, including RIDDOR investigations.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
