Lead the Future of Adult Support in Walsall
Walsall Council is investing in a bold new commissioning model that puts people and place at the heart of service design. As part of this transformation, we're recruiting a Head of Commissioning – Live Well to lead commissioning for adults aged 14–65, including learning disabilities, mental health, housing support, employment, and unpaid carers.
This is a key leadership role in our integrated commissioning team, working closely with health, housing, and voluntary sector partners to deliver innovative, person-centred support that promotes independence and wellbeing.
What You'll Do
Lead commissioning for adults with complex needs, including mental health and learning disabilities. Develop and implement an All-Age Carers Strategy. Shape services that promote early help, prevention, and community based support. Analyse data and market capacity to inform future service models. Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement. Collaborate across sectors to deliver integrated, impactful support.
We're Seeking a Strategic, Collaborative Leader With
Proven experience in adult social care commissioning. Strong understanding of community development and partnership working. Ability to lead transformation and deliver measurable outcomes. Commercial acumen and a focus on value for money. A commitment to inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement.
