Key Responsibilities for the Senior Tooling Development Engineer:
* Develop and refine product designs using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA or equivalent).
* Design and specify tooling solutions to support new product introduction (NPI).
* Liaise with toolmakers, suppliers, and internal manufacturing teams to ensure tooling suitability, efficiency, and robustness.
* Conduct feasibility studies and design-for-manufacture (DFM) assessments.
* Support prototype builds, pre-production trials, and product validation testing.
* Generate and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
* Contribute to continuous improvement activities across tooling, processes, and product designs.
* Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
Required Skills for the Senior Tooling Developmengt Engineer
* Engineering Qualifications to support experience
* Demonstrable experience in tooling design and development within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong 3D CAD modelling and 2D technical drawings.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g Pressings, Assembly CNC machining)
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and structured engineering approach.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Experience of New Product Introduction (NPI) or similar product lifecycle processes.
* Familiarity with DFMA principles.
