Position Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of the UK's largest healthcare systems employing around 40,000 staff, is seeking a leader for its Health Physics department. The role involves overseeing ionising and non-ionising radiation protection services, Medical Physics Expert services in Diagnostic Radiology, and leading a team of physicists and technologists.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the Health Physics team, including twelve physicists and five technologists.
2. Ensure compliance with legislation, technology, and clinical requirements.
3. Lead education and training initiatives, including collaboration with the University of Glasgow.
Candidate Requirements
* Good honours Degree in Physical Sciences, MSc in Medical Physics or equivalent, and preferably a PhD.
* Registration as a Clinical Scientist with HCPC.
* Current certificates of competence from RPA2000 as a Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA) and Medical Physics Expert (MPE) in Diagnostic Radiology.
* Strong management, communication skills, and a research portfolio.
