Responsibilities
* Support Pharmacy Managers and Lead Technicians in the daily operations of the pharmacy.
* Dispense prescription medicines accurately and in compliance with departmental policies.
* Perform accuracy checks on dispensed medicines, where qualified.
* Supervise and mentor pharmacy assistants, trainees, and other staff.
* Manage medicine stock appropriately and oversee over‑the‑counter sales under the supervision of the responsible pharmacist.
* Provide specialised counselling on medicines to outpatients.
* Maintain accurate Controlled Drug records and address discrepancies promptly.
* Support the maintenance of the departmental Wholesaler Dealers Authorisation.
* Process stock requests and place orders, including for complex aseptic products and specialist medicines.
* Address complex queries and supply issues, escalating as necessary.
Hours and Conditions
The hours of work are between 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday, with weekend and bank holidays on a rotational basis. Part‑time options can be discussed at interview.
Qualifications
* UK qualified and GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pre‑Registration Technician nearing completion of a Level 3 qualification (within the next 3 months).
* This role requires an appropriate Level 3 Pharmacy Technician qualification AND registration with the GPhC.
* If you hold a Non‑UK Pharmacy Technician qualification, please contact the GPhC directly to ascertain if your qualification is comparable to a UK qualification, and that you are eligible to register before applying.
* CPL is not registered to sponsor applicants who require a visa.
* Successful candidates will be required to complete a DBS check before employment can commence. Employment is conditional on satisfactory DBS clearance.

* Strong communication, attention to detail, organisational ability, and IT proficiency.
* Adaptability in a fast‑paced environment, able to handle queries and elevate issues when needed.
Salary Information
Initial starting point £28,379 per annum (£13.64ph), moving to £32,674 per annum (£15.71ph) upon one year’s service and successful appraisal.
