Job Advert: Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School, Burscough (L40). Start Date: November 2025. Contract: Fixed Term (Full Academic Year). Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:20pm (Term Time Only). Pay: £13.75 per hour (paid weekly).

The Head Teacher of a mainstream primary school in Burscough (L40) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from November 2025. This is a term-time-only position supporting pupils across EYFS and Key Stage 1.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils’ learning across a range of curriculum areas in EYFS and Key Stage 1
* Assist class teachers with the delivery of lessons and learning activities
* Provide individual or small group support tailored to pupils’ needs
* Encourage positive behaviour and build positive relationships with pupils
* Help monitor and report on pupil progress and engagement
* Support a calm, purposeful, and inclusive learning environment
Essential Requirements
* Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
* Experience working in a UK mainstream classroom environment is essential
* Patience, positivity, and a nurturing approach to support learning and behaviour
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
