Releif Security Officer – DWP Contract (Cheshire)

Locations: Crewe, Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Wigan, Leigh & Surrounding Area's
Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour
Contract: Relief Officer – 8 hour contract (you will be expected to work more depending on business needs and the cover required)
Shifts: Day shifts, typically Monday–Saturday, with occasional Sunday work

Mitie is recruiting Relief Security Officers to support the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) contract across Merseyside. This is a great opportunity to join a large, established organisation.

Unlike many relief roles that offer zero-hour contracts, Mitie provides a guaranteed 8-hour weekly contract. As a Relief Officer, you will cover for full time colleagues during holidays, sickness, and last-minute absences, so weekly hours will vary depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patrol sites and control access

2. Respond to incidents and emergencies

3. Liaise with emergency services when required

4. Provide excellent customer service

5. Complete incident reports and follow security procedures

Training

6. Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
7. To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
8. Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.

Security and Health & Safety

9. Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
10. Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
11. Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
12. To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
13. Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
14. Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
15. To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
16. To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

What We're Looking For

17. Valid SIA Security & DS licence

18. Previous security experience

19. Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
