Role Summary
You will jointly lead our friendly and enthusiastic team based at Gravesham Community Hospital with another full‑time Team Lead Speech and Language Therapist. This part‑time role (22.5 hours per week) is based in the North Kent area and involves delivering evidence‑based, person‑centred care, largely via telehealth (phone and video consultations) while also supporting face‑to‑face services as needed.
Main Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate the Speech and Language Therapy service on a day‑to‑day basis.
* Provide assessment, diagnosis, therapy and advice for patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, focusing on neurological conditions, head and neck cancer, voice and dysfluency.
* Support patients to reach their potential and live their lives to the full, enabling them to follow clinical pathways and discharge criteria.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
* Lead and mentor junior staff, sharing best practice and encouraging professional development.
Ideal Candidate
* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification.
* Registered member of Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Registered member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
* Minimum of 3 years experience working with patients with communication and swallowing disorders and using a broad range of assessment and therapy interventions.
* Confident in using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications.
