The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army is a major part of the Ministry of Defence and one of its largest operating centres, employing around 12,000 Civil Servants located at over 300 locations supporting the 110K regular and reserve soldiers across the Army. This Civil Service workforce is diverse, with many different functions and professions.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be at the heart of how the Army learns and evolves. As an Executive Officer, you'll support the collection, analysis and presentation of safety data and reporting, helping to identify where things can be done better. You'll also play a key role in organisational learning, making sure lessons are shared and understood so we can reduce risk and improve how we work. You'll help ensure the right information reaches the right people at the right time. This includes compiling reports, managing learning content, working with teams across Defence, and supporting projects that aim to enhance safety culture throughout the organisation.
In this role you will have the opportunity to support Army units across the country by helping them learn from the past and prevent avoidable mistakes in the future. Key Details
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. This role sits within a dynamic team that plays a vital part in supporting how the British Army learns from experience and improves its approach to safety. The wider business area focuses on keeping our people safe in operations, training or day-to-day duties, by capturing insights, sharing learning and ensuring clear reporting to help shape better decisions and safer outcomes across the Army.
Responsibilities
* To manage and oversee the routine performance of MySafety including an appropriate quality management system including security rating
* To allocate MySafety permissions as requested / authorised
* Identify improvements to Business Processes & system changes
* To act as the MySafety information security officer including: Undertaking user community (role-based permissions); Validity and security checks; Undertaking system security checks
* Develop and maintain regular MySafety performance reports (availability and reliability)
* Ensuring MySafety compliance with regulatory requirements
* To coordinate and cohere MySafety requests for change and upgrades on behalf of the Army
* To liaise with Army HQ agencies as required such as Army Data Analysis Team
* To represent the Army with the appointed delivery agency
* To deputise for and support the Safety Organisational Learning and Army Reporting (SOLAR) Higher Executive Officer roles as directed

Salary: £29,580 plus employer pension contributions; further benefits include 25–30 days annual leave, pension contributions, professional development, flexible working where possible, EAP, parental/adoption leave, volunteering leave, and learning opportunities. A modern apprenticeship path may be available. Post does not offer relocation expenses. A six-month probation period may apply for external recruits; interview travel expenses are not reimbursed.
