Your new company, Hays Accountancy & Finance, is recruiting a Finance Business Partner on behalf of our client, an organization supporting individuals and families living with disabilities, autism, and brain injuries.
Role Overview
The role is crucial in ensuring the organization performs effectively and efficiently, complying with all external and internal reporting and compliance requirements. You will supervise a broad range of functions within the finance department, primarily focusing on management accounts, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as managing associated staff. Staff development and mentoring are key aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to Finance Improvement Plans for services.
2. Assist with grant applications and claims.
3. Support grant and verification audits.
4. Lead supplier contract reviews and renewals, including tender processes.
5. Prepare monthly management accounts reports, including variance reports.
6. Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
7. Provide project management support.
8. Ensure compliance with statutory returns (e.g., Companies House, Charity Commission).
9. Promote GDPR compliance and cyber security within the department.
10. Line management and staff training.
11. Support and mentor staff.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, or ACCA).
* At least 3 years' experience in a finance function within a large, diverse organization.
* Experience in management accounts, forecasting, and budgeting.
* Knowledge of ISO systems or other quality management systems.
* Desirable: Experience with grant funding, including grant claims and applications.
* Desirable: Experience in managing and mentoring staff.
