Phlebotomist – Southampton – (Job Ref: 26/PBST)

We have an exciting new career opportunity for a Phlebotomist within our clinic located in a Holland & Barrett store in Southampton.
Location: 48-50 Above Bar Street, Southampton, SO14 7DS.
Contract Offered: Full‑time, permanent.
Working Hours / Shifts: 8.20 am to 5 pm, alternating weekly between a Monday‑to‑Friday and Tuesday‑to‑Saturday shift pattern. Shifts may change.
Vaccination and Checks: Must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or able to receive it after interview. Must undergo an enhanced DBS check as per CQC guidelines.
Right to Work Requirement: Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK for at least 12 months from application date. Randox does not offer visa sponsorship.
What the Phlebotomist does
This role ensures customers receive an excellent experience from the moment they enter the clinic, taking blood samples from private and corporate clients. The responsibilities include:
* Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into the Patient Information System (PIS).
* Communicate sensitively to ensure client understanding and consent.
* Maintain accurate records in PIS and upload relevant documentation.
* Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
* Engage in upselling and cross‑selling at the private health clinic.
* Drive sales proactively and exceed targets.
* Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
* Demonstrate high IT literacy to manage various software systems and daily tasks.
Essential Criteria
* Previous phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
* Confidence using IT programmes.
* Flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
Desirable
* Experience in a private healthcare setting.
* Experience in customer service.
* 2 years experience in phlebotomy.
* Sales or retail experience.
* Valid UK driving licence.
