Overview
The Medical Directorate within University Hospital Monklands are keen to appoint a Locum Consultant Physician for a six-month period. The main purpose of the post is to support out of specialty medical patients, patients who are out with the current medical ward footprint. The role will be supported by a ward team including Clinical Fellows. In addition to general medicine ward work, the post holder is expected to have involvement in one of the medical specialties (Respiratory, Nephrology, Gastroenterology or Infectious Diseases) or Acute Medicine depending on the candidate’s special interest.
The precise details of the job plan will depend on the successful candidate’s subspecialty training and interests, and could also include outpatient clinics, medical high dependency cover and the development of new and improved pathways.
