Job Description
As an Operational Technology (OT) Engineer, you will join our team in Hartlepool to support activities within the Nuclear sector.
You will support the maintenance, configuration control, and cyber resilience of plant OT systems, working closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure systems remain secure, compliant, and reliable.
You will gain hands‑on experience in industrial environments, developing expertise in OT systems, asset management, and cyber security practices within a highly regulated, safety‑critical industry.
* On Site: 5 days
* Clearance: BPSS
* Experience Level: 2-5 YOE
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support for OT systems and cyber security management across the full lifecycle (development to in-service operation)
* Support configuration control and system management, including tools, data, and repositories
* Ensure OT security, regulatory compliance, and industrial safety are embedded in all activities
* Act as a point of contact for site OT security matters, supporting:
* Plant Computer Systems Security (PCSS) practitioners
* Cyber security (Blue Team) activities
* Maintain and support key OT documentation and systems, including:
* OT asset registers
* Security case documentation
* Security operating procedures
* Cyber incident response processes
* Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing feedback and supporting team development
Qualifications
Required Skills:
* Understanding of the lifecycle of OT / I&C systems, particularly:
* Configuration control
* Security considerations
* In-service management
* Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
Required Qualifications:
* A degree in Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or a closely related technical discipline, or equivalent military experience
* Eligible for (or holding) UK security clearance
* Up to 2 years’ experience (or relevant placements) in Operational Technology (OT) systems
* Configuration management or cyber security experience
* System reliability and fault tolerance experience
* Proof testing and maintenance practices experience
* Through-life asset management and obsolescence experience
* Familiarity with IEC 62443
* Familiarity with NIST Cyber Security Framework
* Familiarity with IEC 61508
* Interest in OT cyber security, industrial networks, and infrastructure systems
