One of my local government clients are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Employee Relations Manager on a temporary basis. This is a 3-month minimum contract with the possibility of the role being extended further to work Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. Hybrid working role were, however, you will be required to attend the office 2/3 times a week. Overview: * As part of the RBK Management team, working closely with the ODBP’s, this role is responsible for setting out the standards of service, prioritising work based on risk and resources available. The Senior ER Manager will escalate and engage others to balance risk and facilitate good outcomes for employees and services. The role will give frequent visibility of progress, barriers, recommend mitigations and urgent actions required of themselves and others. * The role has responsibility to identify when external or other support is required e.g. legal, LBS and other partners to improve and enhance the ER and wider People and OD service provision. Responsibilities: * To lead and manage the Employee Relations Team to set out service standards and determine priorities. To aid resolution of employee relation matters and cases, as per the people policy framework. * To provide specialist policy and procedural advice to all areas of HR and OD and service management. * Make recommendations to managers and identify risks and opportunities to enhance early resolution. * To oversee the management of HR formal casework, in line with standards set out, including the constitution of panels and representation and ensure quality assurance of cases, prior to hearings. * To represent the organisation at Employment Tribunals where required, engage HoS in support for those attending tribunals. * Manage the deployment of the team and the allocation of projects, case workload and maintain business continuity. * Maintain a close working relationship with our Trade Unions, through formal and informal mechanisms, not only on a case by case basis. * Monitor and report on casework progress. * Oversee and signpost managers and employees to support available when involved in formal casework. * maintain a log of lessons learnt to inform policy development * Maintain up to date case law knowledge, anticipate changes and make recommendations to HoS and ODBP’s, in regard to Policy, procedures and guidance * Develop the capability of HR advisor and apprentice by involving them and coaching casework, involving others. * Ensure administration and governance of policies and procedures is maintained and a log of changes authorised via SLT and HoS/AD. * Horizon scan public, private and 3rd sector for ideas to support the development and improvement of employee relations and * Carry out job evaluations. * Advise on all aspects of the employment policy framework If you are interested in this vacancy, please send your CV to Jahker Miah from Coyle Personnel Ltd
