Registered Manager - Children's Home
Location: Solihull
Salary: Up to £60,000 per year + bonuses


About our client

Our client is more than just a care provider; they are a therapeutic, family‑style home where every child is valued. They promote person‑centred care and support each individual child to encourage them to be the best that they can be.

Their ethos within the business is compassion, respect, and excellence, combining trauma‑informed practice with a nurturing, homely environment.

They are looking for a Manager who can provide the above care for up to 3 children aged 8‑17 years.

Their mission is to provide ongoing support, safety, stability, and understanding.


Role Overview

If you are a passionate and resilient Registered Manager ready to launch a new service—a children’s home that values individualized care and you wish to shape a small therapeutic home—this role is for you.

* Comprehensive induction and ongoing therapeutic training (PACE model, trauma informed practice, safeguarding)

Key Criteria

* Lead the day‑to‑day running of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring their voices are central to all decision making.
* Create a homely, nurturing, activity‑filled environment where children feel safe, valued, and empowered.
* Provide strong leadership, guidance, and supervision to staff, building a motivated and skilled team.
* Implement therapeutic approaches including PACE and trauma‑informed care, embedding them into daily practice.
* Oversee staff recruitment, induction, and ongoing development, ensuring a culture of learning and high standards.
* Manage budgets and resources effectively, balancing financial responsibility with excellent care.
* Build positive partnerships with social workers, schools, health professionals, and families.
* Drive continuous improvement, preparing for inspections and achieving outstanding outcomes for children.


Requirements

* Experience as a Registered Manager or in a senior leadership role within children's residential care.
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted inspections, and regulatory frameworks.
* Experience in trauma informed and person‑centred care approaches.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Resilience, creativity, and the ability to inspire and support both children and staff.
