The Role
We are seeking a high performing Workshop Manager to lead the Taylor & Hart Workshop team.
Key responsibilities include maintaining our quality standards, planning workflow and improving technical knowledge across the business.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who proactively builds partnerships with senior stakeholders within Taylor & Hart to gain a good overview of the business from the inside out and is eager to make a real difference to the companys success.

1. Ensure internal product tracking system is kept live at all times
2. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, managing and the performance of the workshop team
3. Responsible for workload management for both employed craftsmen and contractors (internal and external)
4. Ensuring all services done internally are completed by internal deadline and up to company quality standards
5. Responsible for the overall operations of the workshop including: materials, the overall space and equipment, smelting and salvage.
6. Ensuring health, safety and security in the workshop at all times
7. Support the Aftercare function with inspections and recommendations of aftersales (outside of policy resizes, repairs and returns)
8. Support the Quality function with up to company standards quality checks
9. Provide feedback to the CAD and Procurement departments to improve overall product quality, longevity and finish.
10. Support the design and sampling stages of New product development
11. Support the design and planning stages of some Bespoke pieces
12. Support other departments who need access to the workshop on an ad hoc basis to do so with the least possible disruption (content, brand activations, consultants learning or getting exposure etc.)
13. Onboarding, managing and giving feedback to external/internal contractors
14. Look for new contractors when existing ones are not meeting standards or we have grown sufficiently to need more support
15. Plan for and facilitate training opportunities, both in-house and externally for contractors who need this
16. Provide feedback and where possible implement changes on how systems and processes can be improved
Ideal Candidate
17. Minimum 5 years of experience in jewellery manufacturing, repair, or bench work.
18. Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a jewellery workshop.
19. Strong knowledge of precious metals, gemstones, and production techniques.
20. Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
21. Strong organisational and planning skills to manage workflow and deadlines.
22. Strong verbal and written communication.
23. Ability to give clear instructions and constructive feedback to team members.
24. Experience with CRM and ERP platforms
