We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Senior Estates Surveyor, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £28.79 - £34.00 per hour Summary: The Senior Estates Surveyor will lead on managing a diverse property portfolio across North Yorkshire, providing expert professional advice and supporting the implementation of the Corporate Landlord model. The role plays a critical part in delivering strategic asset management services, ensuring compliance, optimising financial returns, and contributing to the Councils property transformation and Asset Management Strategy. Responsibilities: Lead on a large and varied property portfolio including commercial, operational, and surplus assets. Coordinate property transactions, ensuring legal, procedural, and policy compliance. Identify efficiency savings and opportunities for income generation. Lead and mentor a team of property professionals, including apprentices and graduates. Contribute to development and delivery of the Councils Asset Management Strategy and Asset Plans. Requirements: MRICS Chartered Surveyor. Significant post-qualification experience in estates/property management. Proficient in lease negotiation, asset valuations, and property portfolio management. Strong financial skills (budgeting, cost control, rental income optimisation). Proven ability to manage complex transactions and projects. Skilled in leading teams and developing staff. Up-to-date knowledge of property law, statutory obligations, and local government policy. Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
