SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Weoley Castle, Birmingham, B29 Weekly Pay: £460 - £500 Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (term time only) Start Date: 05/01/2026 Contract: Long-term, Temp-to-Perm Long Term Futures is seeking two committed and patient SEN Teaching Assistants to join a warm, inclusive, one-form-entry primary school, rated Good by Ofsted, in Weoley Castle. Both roles are long-term with the potential to become permanent for the right candidates. Roles Available 1. 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 4) Supporting a Year 4 pupil with ASD and SEMH needs, including challenging behaviour. Provide consistent emotional, behavioural and learning support Use de-escalation and regulation strategies Work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to follow an individualised support plan Support communication, engagement and sensory regulation throughout the school day 2. SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 3 & Year 4) Supporting children across Year 3 and Year 4 with a range of SEN needs. Provide small-group and 1:1 support for children with ASD, communication needs and learning difficulties Support interventions focused on reading comprehension, writing, numeracy and social skills Help pupils stay engaged, regulated and confident in class Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt tasks and provide accessible learning What the School is Looking For Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD, communication needs, sensory needs and/or SEMH Confidence supporting challenging behaviour (essential for the 1:1 role) Ability to work across KS2 and support learning in Year 3 & 4 Understanding of strategies for supporting communication, regulation and engagement A patient, nurturing approach with strong relationship-building skills Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) Minimum of 1 year's experience in a Primary School setting About the School Located in Weoley Castle, B29 Warm, inclusive one-form-entry primary school Ofsted rated Good Supportive SENCO and leadership team Strong ethos of early intervention and personalised support What We Offer at Long Term Futures Long-term roles with potential for permanent placements Opportunities across Birmingham.
