SEND Maths Teacher (SEMH) Brighton (Full Time) Salary – Paid to scale Long term - The potential to become permanent for the right candidate Refer a friend scheme - £125 for both of you! We are looking for an exceptional SEMH Teacher of Mathematics to join our passionate and committed team, supporting young people who need more than just a classroom - they need someone who believes in them. Why This Role Is Different Our pupils may have experienced trauma, disrupted education, or barriers that make mainstream learning challenging. Your role won’t just be about teaching Maths - it will be about rebuilding trust, confidence, and a love of learning. With small class sizes, strong pastoral support, and a trauma-informed approach, you’ll have the time and space to teach creatively and meaningfully. What You’ll Be Doing Delivering engaging, accessible Maths lessons tailored to individual needs Creating a safe, calm, and predictable learning environment Using positive, relational behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation Helping pupils re-engage with learning and celebrate progress - however small Working closely with support staff, families, and external professionals Who We’re Looking For You might be an experienced SEMH teacher – or you might be a brilliant Maths teacher ready for a more purposeful challenge. You’ll be: A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) Confident teaching Maths (KS3/KS4 desirable) Patient, resilient, and emotionally intelligent Skilled at building strong, trusting relationships Passionate about inclusive education and second chances Experience with SEMH or alternative provision is preferred - but the right mindset matters more than the right CV.
