What's involved with this role: Job Title: Lifeline Scheme Manager Reference: Darlington 5281273 Salary: £14.13 per hour PAYE with accrued holiday and pension contribution Hours: 37 hours per week Monday-Friday Role length: 2 months opening assignment Job type: On-site Location: Darlington EDBS Required Contract Type: Temporary The role: You’ll deliver high-quality, person-centred support to Lifeline clients, promoting independence and wellbeing through technology, safe environments, and tailored activities. You’ll respond to emergency calls, carry out risk assessments, deliver first aid when required, and ensure accurate recording of all actions. The role also involves supporting clients through periods of illness or bereavement, responding to equipment or alarm issues, and maintaining clear administrative records. You’ll promote sheltered and extra care housing in the community, manage tenant viewings and sign-ups, and encourage the use of Telecare equipment. Regular client visits, wellbeing checks, and property assessments are part of your day-to-day, along with safeguarding responsibilities and liaising with other agencies to ensure appropriate care and support. You’ll also oversee contractors, promote tenant engagement, and ensure the building and equipment remain safe, functional, and compliant. Key Responsibilities: Respond promptly to emergency calls and deliver first aid including CPR and defibrillator use Carry out home visits, reviews, and wellbeing checks Record all calls, actions, and client interactions accurately Support tenants and families during illness, hospitalisation, or bereavement Promote independence and social inclusion among residents Liaise with housing management and external agencies for additional support or interventions Manage building safety checks, contractor performance, and scheme facilities Market the service locally and assist with tenancy sign-ups and viewings Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety and safeguarding procedures What the client is looking for: Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting vulnerable clients, including those with challenging behaviours Experience responding to emergencies and using initiative within set policies and procedures Good knowledge of safeguarding and data protection practices Confident IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office Calm, empathetic, and professional approach to customers and families Able to work independently and manage competing priorities Physically able to carry out the requirements of the role and travel independently Desirable: Experience in housing, social care, or community support settings First Aid qualification Knowledge of assistive technology or Telecare systems Please quote the Job Title & Vacancy Reference No. in your application, or we will be unable to match your CV to the role being applied for.
