Pay Rate:
* Advertised rate: £14.65 per hour (2-shift rate)
* Initial day shift rate: £12.21 per hour
The Role
Jackson Hogg is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Metal Dresser to join a busy fabrication and manufacturing environment in Ferryhill. This is a hands-on role focused on dressing and finishing welded components to a high standard, primarily in preparation for painting.
The successful candidate will work as part of a small team but must be comfortable working independently across a range of components and jobs.
Key Responsibilities
* Dressing and finishing welded components to a high standard
* Using a range of hand-held tools, including:
* Electric grinders
* Pneumatic grinders
* Pad sanding tools
* Preparing components of various shapes and sizes for painting
* Producing high-quality dressed finishes where parts are left unpainted
* Working accurately and efficiently to job requirements and deadlines
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum 1 year’s experience in a metal dressing / finishing environment
* Confident using hand-held grinding and sanding tools
* Able to work to a consistently high finish and quality standard
* Comfortable working unsupervised within a small team environment
* Reliable, safety-focused, and quality driven
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings
