The IPO is a modern organisation that depends on its IT services to operate and innovate effectively. In this role you will work within a multi-disciplinary squad using several technologies to build enterprise-grade services. You will write, execute, and maintain automated UI and API tests aligned to acceptance criteria to support our continuous deployment environment.
Responsibilities
* Write, execute, and maintain functional/non-functional automated UI and API tests/suites aligned against acceptance criteria to support our continuous deployment environment.
* Design, code, test, maintain, and document robust, scalable and reusable solutions that deliver exceptional user experience using DevOps best practice.
* Investigate problems and opportunities in existing processes, evaluating and communicating findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
* Work closely with software developers to understand the code base and test coverage at unit level.
* Deliver highly user-focused digital services ensuring governance standards are adhered to.
* Identify defects, incidents, risks and issues in line with IPO standards.
* Mentor colleagues in automation/test standards and business processes following agreed governance and best practice.
* Assist in implementing toolkits and APIs for purposes such as integration, performance optimisation, security and scalability.
Essential Criteria
* Experience in delivering technical solutions.
* Experience with modern delivery models such as Scrum and Agile.
* Understanding of DevOps principles.
* Good understanding of mainstream testing frameworks/libraries such as Selenium WebDriver, BDD SpecFlow and RestSharp.
* Experience in a mainstream development language.
* Experience in web services, REST.
* Experience writing SQL statements.
Hybrid working: expected to spend at least 20% of time onsite at the Newport Office.
