Pastoral Support Tutor
37 hours per week (term time only plus 5 days during school closure)
Grade 5: £28,598 - £31,022 (Pro rata £24,681.17 - £26,773.17)
1 x Permanent and 1 x one year maternity cover
Start date – August 2026

South Wigston High School is a vibrant, exciting 11-16 school on the outskirts of Leicester. Our learners are enthusiastic and our colleagues are welcoming, hardworking and supportive. We are currently looking to appoint 2 enthusiastic and committed Pastoral Support Tutors to join our friendly team. We have a permanent vacancy and a maternity cover vacancy available from August 2026.
The successful candidate will:
Assist the head of year (Raising Attainment Leader) in providing holistic welfare support for learners
Support learners through positive pastoral intervention and active supervision, helping to sustain a calm, respectful and inclusive environment where all learners can thrive
To mentor and support learners
Promote effective and healthy relationships both in the classroom and outside of the classroom
To provide effective administrative support and family / agency liaison as directed by pastoral leaders
