Overview
Reporting to the Head of Medical Services, this role will be responsible for providing massage therapy to players to aid recovery, prevent injuries and improve overall performance. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the role is expected to create and contribute to a high-performance environment to develop and maintain players.
Responsibilities
* The support the delivery of massage therapy to Celtic FC’s B Team and Women’s First Team as instructed by the Head of Medical Services
* Perform pre and post training/match soft tissue treatments
* Maintain accurate player medical records
* Working with Head of Medical Services and other supporting staff to reduce the risk of injury through massage therapy within an integrated approach
* Maintaining a comprehensive database of work conducted with players and coaches
* Working effectively with other support staff and services, including sports science/physiotherapy/medical services, to provide an integrated approach to performance enhancement, rehabilitation and injury prevention
* Ensuring that the delivery of the medical services effectively meets its commitments to the players and coaches
* Ensure all communications with colleagues is professional, appropriate and considerate of individual needs and circumstances
* Actively build and maintain positive working relationships with Colleagues across the Club, ensuring a collaborative approach is adopted at all times
* Treat all colleagues with dignity and respect by ensuring that your behaviour and approach during the course of all workplace activity is inclusive of all backgrounds and abilities and welcomes diverse contributions
Qualifications
Skills and Experience required:
Essential
* Sports Massage qualification (Level 3 or higher)
* Membership in Professional Body
* Experienced in sports massage and soft tissue therapy techniques
* Empathetic, approachable and able to build and maintain positive working relationships
* Highly organised with good time keeping skills
* Ability to work with high level of accuracy an attention to detail
* Works calmly under pressure
* Excellent communicator both written and verbal
* Driven and self-motivated, with demonstrable continued personal development
* Experience of working to deadlines in a demanding, fast moving, high profile environment
Desirable
* Sports Therapy degree
