Do you have experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour and want to make a real difference in their lives? We’re working with a specialist SEN school in Manchester that supports children and young people aged 7–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Autism (ASC), and behavioural challenges. The school is seeking a resilient, proactive Behaviour Support Mentor to join their team full-time from September. This role is ideal for individuals with backgrounds in youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, social care, or residential support who are confident in building positive relationships and encouraging change. What You’ll Be Doing: Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs Implementing behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques Supporting students to engage with learning and improve social skills Encouraging positive choices and building emotional resilience Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral leads, and therapists to meet individual needs Helping create a safe, consistent, and supportive school environment What We’re Looking For: Previous experience in behaviour support, youth work, mentoring, or similar roles Calm, empathetic, and resilient under pressure Confident in managing challenging behaviour and maintaining boundaries A positive role model who inspires and motivates young people A child-only Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) What’s On Offer: £101.40 – £109.04 per day Ongoing CPD including Behaviour Management & Team Teach training Opportunity to make a real, lasting difference in young people’s lives Supportive and experienced school leadership team Potential for permanent contracts after a successful trial period Ideal Backgrounds Include: Youth Work or Mentoring Sports Coaching or Outdoor Education Residential Care or Social Care Alternative Provision or Pupil Referral Units (PRU) SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistants How to Apply: If you’re ready to use your skills to support and inspire young people with behavioural needs, apply today or get in touch
