A Vacancy at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a well-established post where the postholder will provide medical leadership for patients on Bollin (functional) and Greenway (organic) wards, with a total of 21 patients.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing medical leadership for MDT meetings.
* Carrying out comprehensive psychiatric assessments and providing treatment for inpatients.
* Supporting ward staff in managing psychiatric emergencies.
* Conducting patient reviews and leading multidisciplinary ward reviews, CPA reviews, and multi-professional meetings.
* Being the responsible clinician under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) and performing related duties.
* Renewing and maintaining Responsible Clinician status as per procedures.
* Performing comprehensive risk assessments and participating in the Trust's risk management processes.
* Providing medical leadership to the inpatient ward team.
* Maintaining effective communication and working flexibly with other service parts, including wards, inpatient units, community teams, and primary care.
* Liaising with families and carers.
* Completing reports for Mental Health Tribunals with support from the Staff Grade doctor.
* Attending Mental Health Tribunals or supervising team members in Tribunal work, assessing for Mental Health Act use, completing consent to treatment, and authorizing Section 17 leave.
