Place and Economic Growth Facilities Management Facilities Operatives (Failsworth and Royton Town Halls) Ref: 000732 Contract: Permanent Salary: 25,183 - 27,269 per annum (Grade 3) Hours: 36.66 per week Location: Failsworth Town Hall or Royton Town Hall Closing Date: Sunday 8th 2025 Shortlisting & Interview Dates: TBC. Role Overview: To have full responsibility for the management and maintenance of the building and its surrounding areas and the key person for staff to report any issues relating to Facilities Management. To provide a welcoming and safe environment for all building users; to ensure the security of buildings and contents; to maintain high standards of cleanliness and undertake porterage and handyperson duties. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the opening and closing of the premises and providing a welcoming high-quality customer service and safe environment for building users. Responsible for the internal and external cleaning of the building to include hard and soft surfaces and emptying of all bins around the building into the outside recycling bin area. Responsible for the security of the premises and its contents (including the operation of fire and burglar alarms, fire warden and key-holder responsibilities). Responsible for opening and closing the building for evening use at times when events are scheduled and carry out general duties to ensure the safety and security of visitors to the building during events. Key Requirements: To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum: Responsible for carrying out daily weekly and monthly checks and to record the results using the Weblog system, including daily fire escape checks, daily building checks, weekly flushing of infrequently used water outlets, weekly fire alarm tests, weekly panic alarm tests, monthly utility meter reading and monthly water temperature checks (this list is not exhaustive) Responsible to carry out daily inspections for internal and external defects and to repair where appropriate, or to report to the Property Service Desk To assist building users by setting up the rooms and ensuring they are clean and ready for use To provide caretaking cover in all Facilities Management buildings as required including daily building checks and recording the outcomes of these onto the electronic property database.
