Our client, responsible for maintaining one of London’s most prominent and historic waterfront estates, is currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the upkeep of essential mechanical systems across the site in East London. Responsibilities: * Undertake both scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks across a variety of estate infrastructure, such as bridges, lock gates, pumping stations, sewage systems, and estate buildings. * Carry out system inspections and identify faults, with particular attention to hydraulics and other critical mechanical systems. * Promptly escalate any faults, equipment failures, or irregularities to your supervisor or manager. * Provide hands-on mechanical support to diagnose issues, carry out repairs, and help restore systems to full operation as quickly as possible. * Take responsibility for identifying and ordering replacement parts to support timely repairs. * Keep clear and accurate records of maintenance work to support audit requirements and ensure legal compliance. * Contribute to a safe working environment by adhering to Health & Safety policies and participating in risk assessments and method statements. * Participate in a call-out rota for emergency repairs and out-of-hours maintenance coverage. * Support the wider maintenance team as needed, including tasks outside the immediate mechanical scope, where appropriate.
