We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional needs in a welcoming primary school based in the WN3 area of Wigan. This is a full-time, long-term/ongoing position starting on Monday, 2nd June 2025.
You will play a crucial role in supporting the academic and social development of the pupil, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning strategies. Your responsibilities will include delivering targeted interventions, supporting the child’s day-to-day progress, and helping maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support tailored to the needs of the pupil.
* Assist in delivering individualised learning activities.
* Monitor and record progress, working closely with teaching staff and parents.
* Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting children in a primary school setting.
* Knowledge or experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A patient, caring, and flexible approach.
