Responsibilities
Production Operator/Packer required for employment in a global manufacturing company in Kenfig Industrial Estate near Port Talbot.
Initial wage rate of £12.56 per hour (£27,499 annually) applies to all candidates. Additional levels are achievable for the right candidates with remuneration for moving up to these levels.
Own transport is required as the site is not near any major transport links.
Average 42.1 hours per week. Work on a rotational day/night basis, 4 days on and 4 days off, 12-hour shifts.
Working in a manufacturing environment with rotational shifts would be advantageous but not essential.
Looking for candidates to start immediately.
Must have the right to work in the UK.
Summary
* Operate machines efficiently, producing quality products on time with minimal wastage.
* Support the Production Manager with the ongoing development and improvement of the function.
Key Points
* Ensure the requirements of the Job Specification sheet are met.
* Operate machines and ancillary processes continually during shifts.
* Prepare for ongoing processes, e.g., mixing & granulation.
* Ensure in-process checks are recorded and results meet specifications; certify finished products for dispatch.
* Ensure packaging and identification meet customer requirements.
* Meet despatch and loading needs.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and correctly use machines; ensure materials are properly accounted for and used efficiently.
* Provide team development and training; conduct performance appraisals and identify training needs.
* Ensure in-process inspections, labelling, and packing conform to specifications; review deviations with quality control.
* Support other areas of the business, including granulation and out-of-hours work.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment.
* Promote continuous improvement ideas.
Qualifications
* Manufacturing experience is beneficial but not required.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
