Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chemistry Lecturer to join a reputable college in North London on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire and support learners studying Chemistry across a range of levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching across Chemistry courses (e.g., GCSE, A-Level, or BTEC Applied Science)
* Plan engaging and interactive lessons aligned with curriculum and awarding body requirements
* Support learners in developing theoretical understanding and practical laboratory skills
* Prepare and supervise laboratory experiments in line with health and safety regulations
* Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on assignments and coursework
* Monitor learner progress and implement targeted support where required
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement
* Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes
* Support learners in progressing to higher education, apprenticeships, or careers in STEM fields
Requirements
* Relevant qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific field (Degree required)
* Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one
* Experience teaching Chemistry in a Further Education or similar setting
* Strong subject knowledge across key areas of Chemistry (e.g., organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry)
* Understanding of laboratory health and safety standards
* Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
* Ability to motivate and support learners from a range of backgrounds
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
