Teaching Personnel has a great opportunity to work with an Alternative Provision school based in Toxteth. The school caters to pupils in KS3-KS4, many of whom have been diagnosed with SEND/SEMH (or are awaiting diagnosis), and/or have been excluded from at least one mainstream school.
Key Requirements
1. Engagement Skills: Ability to engage learners and support their ambitions. Bring fresh ideas and creativity to the classroom and outside it.
2. Emotional Support: Passionate about making a positive impact on students’ lives.
3. Academic Background: Degree in a relevant teaching subject; equivalent for SEN is desirable.
4. Core Teaching Qualifications: Teaching Qualification in QTS/QTLS or willingness to work towards it. Specialist Teaching Qualification is desirable.
5. Experience: Experience in a school environment, particularly secondary school, is an advantage.
6. Teaching Subjects: Proficiency in English, Maths, and Science, with a minimum of grade 4/C or higher.
7. Knowledge: Understanding of alternative provision and dealing with students with special needs.
8. Problem-Solving: Aptitude for solving problems and making effective decisions.
9. Communication: Professional communication with students and staff.
10. Promotion of Values: Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, safeguarding, wellbeing, and British values.
11. Time Management: Effective time management for planning, delivery, and assessment.
