Positioned within the commercial team, you will be at the heart of a fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with the go-to-market team and building strong relationships with our supplier partners. As a Senior Buyer, you should possess extensive buying and management experience, as you will oversee high-turnover, complex categories and lead a team of direct reports.
You will support the development of the wider team, ensuring we have a capable and committed workforce aligned with our company vision: ‘we help everyone enjoy amazing technology’. You may also delegate responsibilities for the Head of Category in meetings.
Responsibilities include managing categories such as Print, Ink, Data Storage, Office Supplies, and Networking, prioritizing time demands across a large supply base.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing all supplier relationships in line with commercial and category strategies.
2. Developing sourcing strategies to offer the best ranges with optimal availability while minimizing NET cost of goods.
3. Understanding future technology roadmaps and product innovations to plan ahead for customer trends and demand.
4. Creating trading strategies to grow market share, especially online.
5. Expanding customer adoption of the instant ink subscription across channels.
6. Negotiating product ranges, costs, terms, exclusivity, and distribution.
7. Negotiating financial terms to maximize EBIT.
8. Pricing products in line with CPI targets.
9. Collaborating with merchandising to forecast sales and stock levels.
10. Reviewing team objectives, supporting professional development, and talent planning.
Minimum Requirements:
* Substantial buying experience in FMCG, Fashion, or Hard Goods retail.
* Strong negotiation skills with supplier partnerships.
* Customer-focused mindset with excellent commercial awareness.
* Proficiency in SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
* Management experience of more than one direct report.
* Power BI reporting experience.
