Overview
The Oral & Maxillofacial Department at Royal Cornwall Hospital invites applicants for the post of Specialty Doctor. The successful candidate will be part of the Oral and Maxillofacial team providing comprehensive outpatient and day-case service in a busy hospital department. We are seeking to appoint a full-time Specialty Doctor to work within a committed team of Consultants in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery, as well as Orthodontics, and other medical, nursing and administration staff.
There will be a requirement to undertake clinical duties at West Cornwall Hospital, and St Austell Hospital. All aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery are covered, and you will be required to work both independently and in Consultant-led clinics, and be responsible for diagnosis, prevention and treatment planning.
Responsibilities
* Share with colleagues the responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
* Contribute to the teaching and training of junior staff or medical students.
* Have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
* Actively participate in both department- and Trust-level matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
* Attend meetings as appropriate.
* Fulfil duties of weekly timetable.
